About Us

At 416 S 9th St, the Knitting Factory Boise has built its reputation one sold-out show at a time. The room has a way of disappearing when the lights drop and the first chord hits. Ask anyone who caught a tribute act here and they'll tell you the same thing: the lighting crew alone is worth the ticket price. That's not an accident. This venue sweats the details that most places ignore.

The crowd is a mix of college students, longtime Boise locals, and out-of-towners who planned their whole trip around a show. Drinks are priced like the staff actually wants you to stick around for the encore, and the sightlines from the floor are clean enough that you don't need to push to the front. Over 2,000 reviews averaging 4.3 stars backs that up.

From high-energy tribute nights to original touring artists, the calendar moves fast. If a show catches your eye, buy early. The room fills up, and for good reason.

What We Offer

The Knitting Factory runs the full spectrum of live entertainment. On any given week the stage might host a Led Zeppelin tribute, a local indie act, a comedy headliner, or a touring hip-hop artist. The booking is intentionally eclectic because the Boise audience demands variety.

Beyond the stage, the venue operates a full bar with reasonably priced drinks, a designated outdoor smoking area, and a staff that regulars consistently describe as friendly and on the ball. Tickets are available online in advance, which matters because shows regularly sell out. Private event bookings are also available for the right occasion.

The space on 9th Street is purpose-built for sound and crowd flow, not retrofitted from something else. The production quality, especially the lighting, consistently earns callouts in reviews because the technical crew treats every show like it's the headliner's biggest night.

"Super fun venue, reasonably priced drinks. Tickets to see a concert were also reasonably priced. Convenient smoking area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The show I attended was packed, but it was easy for my husband and I to get up to the front for a better view. People were also very friendly and welcoming to us out-of-towners. Will definitely be attending more shows here in the future."

"My family and I attended an event at this venue, and what should have been a fun, memorable experience turned into one of the most upsetting and unprofessional situations we have ever dealt with. Moments before Silverstein was about to take the stage, a female employee aggressively confronted us without warning. There was no polite request, no conversation--just sudden hostility and yelling. The supposed "issue"? My six-year-old daughter was on my shoulders while we were standing OFF TO THE SIDE, near the handrail, purposely away from the center so we wouldn't block anyone. We had already watched three bands this way for over two hours without a single problem. No one around us ever complained--quite the opposite. Many people were excited to see a child enjoying her first concert and told us how awesome it was. People were smiling, cheering her on, and taking photos of how much fun she was having. When this employee stormed over and started yelling aggressively, several concertgoers immediately spoke up for us. They told her clearly that my daughter wasn't bothering anyone, wasn't blocking anyone's view, and was just a little kid enjoying the moment. Instead of listening--or acting like a professional--the staff member told these guests to mind their fing business*, loudly and aggressively, right in front of my daughter. My daughter burst into tears instantly. She was terrified and confused and kept saying she didn't understand what she did wrong. This altercation absolutely devastated her, and no six-year-old should ever be treated like that at what should have been a joyful experience. We supported the venue fully--we bought tickets, we purchased food and drinks, and we even paid to have our jackets stored in their cubbies. Despite all that, we were treated with nothing but disrespect and hostility. After being forced to leave the show entirely, I spoke to the young woman at the front desk. She told me directly that this has never been an issue in the past. When I asked to speak with someone in charge, they sent the exact same female security employee who had yelled at us. She walked up smiling--as if she was proud of the altercation or pleased with herself for causing such distress. It was disturbing and completely inappropriate. I later spoke with the General Manager hoping there would finally be some accountability. Instead, he acted as if he didn't believe what happened. He even stated that it was "impossible to post rules or regulations for their events--they just deal with problems as they happen." That attitude alone demonstrates the lack of structure, consistency, or professionalism at this venue. Despite multiple witnesses trying to defend us earlier, he dismissed nearly everything. In the end, he simply pushed a refund at us like that would somehow erase the harm done. A refund does NOT fix this. A refund does NOT erase my daughter's fear and heartbreak. A refund does NOT change the unprofessional, hostile behavior of the staff. In a blind effort to find answers--knowing full well the band was not responsible for the venue's actions--we contacted the band's management. Shockingly, the band's manager responded to us before the venue ever did. That alone says everything about who actually cares about their fans. It says even more that other concertgoers showed more empathy, common sense, and integrity than the venue's own staff and management. I hope this review helps other families understand the type of treatment they may face here. No child should ever leave their first concert crying because of a staff member's deliberate hostility. If the venue cannot handle enforcing rules respectfully, cannot create a safe and welcoming environment for all ages as they advertise, and cannot treat paying customers with basic human decency, then something is seriously wrong with how they operate."

"Thank you Sarah and the staff at The Knitting Factory! I requested ADA accommodations and Sarah was so unbelievably nice and supportive through the entire process. She was so helpful when I didn’t get the first email and asked if I had any other questions. When I got the venue, she already knew who I was (not hard in the crowd I was in lol) and made sure I was all set up. The other staff was also so helpful and accommodating! She was around during the night to make sure that no one else sat at my table. At the end of the night when I thanked her again, she told to reach out whenever I needed anything. The Knitting Factory really shines! Thank you Sarah!!"

"Recently my wife Victoria had a slight injury before our valentine 💝 mini vacation. We had purchased general admission tickets for the Elevators show. While enjoying the morning in boise downtown walk sounded enjoyable. Unfortunately my wife felt unpleasant pain in her knee. I thought we would have to cancel. Figured I would try and reach out via Email. Quickly we received a phone call from a kind lady named Sara. She said hello is this Dean. The rest is an awesome turn of events. We had reserved seats and couldn't be happier with the staff. Thank you so much Sara being a great human 😍. The best valentines!"
